Busting Instagram Myths

There’s a lot of noise floating around on the internet about Instagram and how you can be successful at it. Unfortunately a lot of this advice is incorrect at worst, and misguided at best. We are going to bust a few myths you may have heard about Instagram!

Myth: You have to post every day to grow.

Truth: You have to post consistently to grow. How often you post isn’t as important as letting your community know what to expect from you. Create a schedule and stick to it, then focus more of your energy on engagement.

Myth: You should use all 30 hashtags in every post.

Truth: Using hashtags just to use them isn’t a good strategy. Hashtags should be niche and specific to your work. Focus on 10-15 quality hashtags rather than focusing on the quantity of hashtags.

Myth: Posting only Reels will help your account grow faster.

Truth: While Reels do provide an avenue for increased reach, views can be inconsistent. It’s more beneficial to use all the tools Instagram makes available—Reels, IGTV, Stories, Carousels, Posts, and Videos.
