How To: Photos Meant for Social

Creating a social media feed that is cohesive can seem daunting when you’re not sure where to start. Don’t worry, we got you! There are a ton of ways to make your feed stand out among a sea of social media posts, like; grids, graphics, quotes, templates, and more. One of our favorite ways to create a theme on your social media feed is through a consistent look and tone of your photos.

Our go-to photo editing apps (that are free) are VSCO and Adobe Lightroom for mobile. VSCO is full of photo editing presets that will save you time and energy on editing your photos. A photo preset is a preselection of settings, designed to achieve a certain look or style on your image. Normally, with just one click, you can select a preset and your image will be altered to fit your style.

For more advanced features and presets, we use Adobe Lightroom. We promise, it’s just as easy to use as VSCO. You can take your product photos or office shots to the next level with lightroom. Here are some of the free presets we like to use.

  • Helen In Between has 3 free presets for new subscribers. She also has a tutorial on how to install your presets if you need help.

  • Presets Galore has free mobile lightroom presets as well as desktop presets if you’re using Adobe on your computer.

  • Creative Tacos  not only has free mobile lightroom presets, but you’ll also find fonts, mockups, templates and more!

Once you find the preset that you love, you can start using that on your photos to change the lighting, brightness, and tone as needed to make the image fit the rest of your feed.
