How to Create a Pinterest Pin

Whether you’re posting on Instagram or running a TV ad, you want your content to be engaging and drive results. Pinterest, a creative search engine, is a great place to share content that can help you grow exponentially. If you put thought into the design and strategy of your pins, your pins can do a lot of hard work for you. Here are a few things to consider when creating and scheduling pins:

Images

Taking up space will serve you well on Pinterest. Vertical images will perform much better than squares in the feed. Keep the design simple and legible—the quicker your message comes across, the more likely people are to click! Don’t forget to use keywords in the image file name too. As a search engine, Pinterest takes file names into account.

Titles

Pinterest only shows users the first 30 characters of a Pin title, so make sure you use that space wisely. Make sure the keywords in your title align with the keywords in the content you’re sharing to get the best results.

Descriptions

Use this section to expand upon your title. Users will only be able to see the first 50-60 characters, so make sure your most engaging copy comes first. Don’t forget to include a call-to-action to increase engagement.

Consistency

The more you post, the more likely you are to show up in search feeds. Pinterest rewards users who have a regular posting schedule. Begin by posting weekly, then try to increase the amount of content you’re sharing by a few posts at a time.
