6 Things To Do During the Quarantine

There are many ways to shift your mindset when you get into a slump. Our team at Gradient Creative Agency has compiled our personal favorite ways to lighten the mood during these times.

Have a Jam Session

Put on your favorite playlist and have a dance party! You know the playlist that has those songs on it that immediately take you back to a sunny day in the summer on the lake with friends—or any memory that puts a smile on your face? Yeah, put that one on. Researchers found that music activates neurochemical systems and brain structures associated with positive mood.

Enjoy Fluffy Friend Time

We’ve all seen the posts on social media of people who are working from home being distracted by pets that just want attention. Two of our team members have cats, and one has a dog. Taking just 15 minutes to walk your pet or spend time playing with them will take your mind off of the stress you may be feeling.

Practice Self Care

When was the last time you pampered yourself? Use this time to treat yourself while staying home and take a bath, meditate, or do a face mask. Don’t have a sheet mask laying around the house? You can make your own homemade facial masks from products in your pantry! If beauty routines aren’t your thing, you can also pick up that book you’ve been meaning to read and give your mind a break from the real world.

Get Your Heart Pumping

Endorphins are your body’s positivity chemical, and one sure way to get those endorphins going is with exercise. Take a walk around your neighborhood, go for a run in the park, do a yoga flow—anything to get your heart rate up. There are a number of online sites and apps providing at home workouts for free while everyone is staying home. Some of the free resources we’ve tried are Planet Fitness, FabFitFun, Orange Theory, and CorePower Yoga.

Become a Foodie

If you're a foodie, cooking a new recipe is an exciting and welcome distraction. If you’re not a foodie, you can use this time at home to try something new! Make those homemade biscuits your grandma used to make, but with chocolate gravy! You can also switch out that unhealthy snack for a healthier option, like apple slices and peanut butter or baby carrots with hummus. There’s never been more time to meal prep!

Facetime With a Buddy

Technology has made social distancing a little easier with the help of video chat! Try a group game night via Google Hangouts, have a movie night with multiple people using Netflix Party, or simply chat with your best friend about ways you’re staying positive.

We know that staying home for a long period of time can get old quickly and leave you going stir crazy. Try out these 6 tips and see if it doesn't turn that frown upside down.
