5 Things To Include in Your Content Plan
Business owners know how difficult it can be to maintain a social media presence on top of everything else there is to juggle. That’s why it’s important to make a content plan! A content plan helps you strategize, develop, and schedule content in advance so that you don’t have to think about it on a day-to-day basis. It saves you time and brain power! But how do you go about creating a content plan? Start with these five things!
Your Goals: Think about your business goals on a monthly and yearly basis—sales, clicks, audience growth, or any other metrics you find important. How can your social media posts support those goals?
Important Dates: Look at your business plan for the year. When are you have sales? When are you releasing a new product or service? Create content around those initiatives!
Holidays: Oftentimes holidays can sneak up on you. The good news is that you can plan all your holiday posts in advance so that you’re never scraping together a last minute post! Of course you should make content for all the major holidays, but don’t forget fun smaller ones like National Chocolate Day if they are relevant to your business.
Content Buckets: What categories are relevant to your business? Create content buckets, like education, inspiration, entertainment, etc., to help guide the type of content that you create. This helps keep your content on-brand.
Post Frequency: Consider how often you would like to post each week. Consistency in posting is much more important than the number of posts, so make sure that you choose a number of posts that is sustainable to you.
