How to Have a Better Relationship with Social Media

After a year spent at home, it seems like everyone’s average screen time skyrocketed. The endless scroll isn’t a habit we want to continue, so we’re sharing some tips on how you can have a healthier relationship with social media!

Unfollow

On Instagram, you can find out which accounts you interact with the least. Since you aren’t regularly engaging with their content, you probably won’t miss it if it’s gone! Go ahead and unfollow those accounts to remove those posts from your feed.

Set limits

Did you know that you can limit screen time on certain apps on your phone? Try limiting yourself to no more than 2 hours on social media a day, or have your apps limited during a certain time of day, like 5-7pm or before you go to bed.

Delete the apps

If you remove the apps from your phone, you'll be forced to check social media through your browser—and let’s face it, that’s kind of a hassle! Adding an extra step to checking social media will help you spend less time there.

Turn off notifications

If you feel the urge to check your phone every time you get a notification, just turn off your notifications! The updates will be there when you decide to check in. There’s no need to look immediately.

How do you set social media boundaries for yourself?
