Instagram adds SEO

Now that Instagram is leaning into the shopping aspect of the app, they’re working to increase visibility of businesses and brands. Part of that means broadening their SEO. Now, key terms that are in your bio and posts will be searchable, not just your name and username. Keep this in mind when you’re writing captions!

Instagram Reels

The rollout for Reels was underwhelming—especially for an audience already engaged with TikTok—but just like Stories, Reels will only continue to gain popularity. Instagram’s UI update already put Reels front and center, and the Explore page highlights Reels for even more exposure. For these videos, engagement is only continuing to increase, so it’s a great time to start thinking about a Reels strategy.

Facebook Ads remain important

In today’s saturated market online, Facebook ads will be critical for continued success and visibility. The only surefire way to beat the algorithm is to pay to play! Boost posts on a regular schedule at a small dollar amount to keep your audience engaged and growing. Try to shoot for video ads—they tend to perform better than static ones.

LinkedIn success means transparency

The world has been through a lot this year, and part of that has been shining a light on inequalities in the workplace. While LinkedIn is still going to be a place to share your successes, it’s also going to become a place to have conversations about these tough issues. Be open to posting about your company values and hearing feedback from others in your industry. It’s a great way to make connections and problem solve.

TikTok sponsorships and ads increase

It’s safe to say that TikTok cemented its place in the social media sphere last year, and it’s only continuing to grow more popular. Advertising on TikTok has just begun to scratch the surface—brands and businesses are realizing that creators can promote songs, products, and services in a way that feels more organic and has a higher likelihood of virality than any other platform.
